Based on the marine, maritime, and shipping expertise of its associated companies, Aviontek has been offering since 2017 consulting on the use of navigation technologies, vessel lifecycle assessments, marine databases and port management technologies for port administrations. In addition, there is extensive know-how on terrestrial and marine environmental sciences, which is implemented for the sustainable and efficient use of seawater, with the use of ICT and geoinformatics-based technologies. Furthermore, AvionTek can lead and coordinate large shipping projects based on its experience in the aviation and other domains and can also assume the communication and dissemination of projects to the market, or assist projects to evolve to a commercial status, whilst duplicating the AvionTek paradigm. Selected projects with Aviontek’s participation are reported below.

Services on shipping navigation technologies as fuel consumption reduction. Expertise in vessel lifecycle performance and assessments focused on the operation profile and based on installed or desired machinery for the shipyard and the shipping company. Energy efficiency and operational optimization, including exhaust gas emissions compliance for voyages in ECA zones and other. Marine databases for smart navigation and ECDIS mapping software onboard. Vessels and other maritime structures tender specifications
Route Optimization and Just-in-time arrival fuel management.
Τhe choice of a ship's best route considers weather considerations, the ship herself, her load and fuel consumption, and any delay along the route. The Tool considers parameters like the cartographic imaging environment, appropriate software for data management, application development for user and software interaction, ability to predict the behaviour of the ship in waves (movements, acceleration, additional ship resistance), and a series of optimization algorithms, technology offered in cooperation with the National Technical University of Athens, Department of Naval Engineering.
